Less is More # 325 - Stripe

Hello there! It's so lovely of you to pop by.
Are you ready for another Less is More challenge? We have a fun recipe this week with scope for lots of creativity.

http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.pt/

As usual the rest of the design team have some incredible cards to share with you over at the challenge blog (and usually a few more on their personal blogs too) so please pop over to see them.

We also have another fab guest designer joining us - TaeEun. Her card is gorgeous so I hope you pop over to see her too.

I've had a really busy week last week so I only have 2 cards to share with you this time.

1) Jasmine texting

I think this is a brilliant image for all teenage girls. I can see I will use it a lot with my granddaughter and step-granddaughters! I managed to get stripes in on her skirt and a couple around 2 edges of the card blank for good measure.

STAMPS: Lili of the Valley Jasmine-Phone, Happy Little Stampers Mix Mash sentiments
INKS: Archival black, an ages old Papermania red ink
OTHER: White card, Watercolour paper, watercolour pencils, tiny gem, striped washi tape, red pen (for the dots)

This one is for the following challenges (in alphabetical order):

Addicted To Stamps #146 - Not a square card
Crafting When We Can #142 - One for the girls
Dream Valley Challenge #154 - All about the hair
Lemon Shortbread #39 - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Splash it on (Watercoloured the image)
The Crafty Addicts Challenge #35 - Anything Goes with optional add a sentiment
Through The Craftroom Door - Week of April 19 - Anything Goes

2) Quickie Stripe Card

Here's one of my 5 minute cards and it is a fantastic one for using up those little scraps of paper. The strips were stuck onto a thin piece of paper and that was stuck directly onto the card blank. So it's a really flat card for posting too.

That's what I like....fast, few supplies and inexpensive to post!

STAMPS: Hero Arts - Irreverent birthday messages
OTHER: White card blank and scraps of card in white, black, lilac, pale blue and pastel green, small piece from a double sided adhesive sheet, black ink.

I'm entering this one into
Cards in Envy - Pretty Pastels
Ooh La La Creations #226 - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations #339 - Anything Goes

Hope you find the time to join us in this fun challenge this week!! Can't wait to see what you do with the recipe.

Hugs,

  1. These are totally fantastic, Sharon! That digi girl is fab, and you've coloured and shaded her so beautifully including the hair <3 Love how you've worked in stripes on the skirt and at 2 edges, which also looks very cool as a layout! I'm in awe of your paper stripes card which packs so much visual impact and in gorgeous coordinating colours... fabulous and so creative! Brilliant idea. Have a lovely weekend x

  2. These are two so different and inspiring ways of incorporating stripes in to your designs, Sharon! I love the teenage girl image - I just need an equivalent one for boys! The stripes around the edge look fab and I adore your paper stripes on the second card - it looks so cool and is a versatile design that could be used in lots of colours. Have a great weekend x

  3. Fabulous cards Sharon ! I'm sure that my daughter would love your first card ! Great idea to make her a stripy skirt and to balance with stripes on the red edges ! I also love your second card ! I could make a lot of cards with all my scraps ! I recently saw a post from J. McG and she also used her scraps to make beautiful cards ! I think I will have a try too ! Thanks for sharing and for inspiring.

  14. Wow! What a great pair of cards! They are both lovely, but I like how you made each one totally unique. On the first card, you have really brought that girl to life through you're coloring skills! And the image is so realistic and reflective of teenage girls today!! I love how you made a card built on their habits! And I love how the second card is both geometric and elegant. Really wonderful work on both cards! Thank you for sharing them with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
